A Better America Scholarship Program

Students today have the ability to seamlessly navigate the 21st century better than any previous generation. The world is shrinking, with globalization, speed of light communication and unprecedented access to knowledge via the Internet tearing down barriers to individual and community advancement. With a pocket-sized smartphone that would have been considered a supercomputer 40 years ago, a young person can turn the world on its head and take selfies all at the same time.

The scholarship is not limited to a particular school or university, as every student in the United States has the power to change the country. We outline our reasons for creating the scholarship in greater detail on our blog:

Eligibility

• Currently enrolled at an accredited university in the United States.
• A citizen of the United States, or have a valid green card.
• International students studying in the United States are eligible, but they will have to demonstrate their intention to stay in the country after graduation and see through their change-making agenda.

The deadline for the 2015 scholarship is 31 December 2015

How to apply

Students must outline in 200 words or less how they intend to change America. As an editing and proofreading company, we value high quality writing, and therefore we will look kindly upon well written entries. Please submit your entry to scholarship@geediting.com and include your name, university or school and contact details.

The prize

Global English Editing will award $1000 to the leading university student. This money should be used to facilitate their agenda, but whether that involves paying for tuition, textbooks or college accommodation, or something entirely different, is up to them.

Keep in mind that if Steve Jobs was awarded such a scholarship in his youth, he probably would have spent the money to attend a Buddhist retreat and on LSD, and we think he made a pretty fantastic contribution to America, and the world.
